In January 2009 the 7th edition of the AISTS Master in Sport Administration and Technology, an internationally recognised postgraduate degree, is taking place in Lausanne, the Olympic Capital.

Every year 30-35 motivated sport-minds from all over the world are selected to take part in AISTS’s unique sport management programme – the MSA. The MSA is a multi-disciplinary postgraduate degree that not only incorporates important disciplines such as management & economics, law and sociology into its curriculum but also the crucial disciplines of technology and medicine. With technology being the main driver for innovation in sport and medicine, the MSA is providing managers with a sound understanding of what the human body is able to deliver without the use of drugs and how it reacts under certain conditions. Being aware of that, future sport managers will be able to achieve sustainable development along all dimensions.

“Our MSA participants are a valuable source for any sport organisation because through the holistic approach of the MSA they are able to consider all relevant aspects and interact with experts in a variety of fields. These are skills future sport managers need,” claims Dr Claude Stricker, executive director of AISTS.

The AISTS, is a centre of excellence for education, research, innovation and technology transfer and it integrates sports science, sports business and sports technology. Through its founding members, amongst others the IOC, EPFL, UNIL, Uni Geneva, IDHEAP, IMD Business School, AISTS offers its MSA participants access to experts in every field and upholds the standards of the Swiss label of quality. MSA participants also benefit from the big network of lecturers. With about 130 lecturers, half of them being experts from the field, the learning experience is unique.

The last application deadline for the MSA is 15 September 2008. For more information, please consult www.aists.org/msa or send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .
