Comparative Study of the Budgeting Peculiarities of Sport Events
This study focuses on the comparative study of the financial statements of some selected sporting events to determine the peculiarities of the various revenues and expenditures. This study will attempt to identify variances and reasons for these variances between the forecast and final budgets. The financial statements of two Olympic Summer Games (Atlanta 1996 and Sydney 2000) and two Olympic Winter Games (Lillehammer 1994 and Nagano 1998) are analysed. The research will compare the pattern of the revenue and expenditure components for the selected games to see if there are similarities or differences in their budgeting behaviour. It is hoped that research in this topic and the results obtained will help sport event organisers to improve on their financial planning and budgeting processes for future events.

International Study on National Sport Federation Performance
This paper examines the current situation, in terms of general administration, of National Sports Federations from a number of sports and countries. Sports federations are increasing their levels of commercialisation and professionalism and this is changing the way sports are run today. In order to better situate themselves in this new context, these sport federations may need to measure their performance by comparing themselves with similar federations from other countries and sports.  The first stage of this research will attempt to show the importance of measuring performance and will illustrate this with some cases of local sport authorities in specific countries along with the resulting benefits. This study will also demonstrate how commercialisation and professionalism are affecting the sport industry and how some sports federations have successfully dealt with this.
