Sustainable Events

The AISTS has been working with various international federations, organising committees and cities to help them reduce their impacts on society during events.  Working with the best experts in sustainability from our partner organisations and international sports community, we are able to offer the latest solutions to our clients.

The AISTS has been producing various sustainability publications, case studies and reports for a diverse number of sports organisations that include both international federations and cities.   We are able to provide applied research into current sustainable practices and trends, evaluations, implementation planning, quick start guides, integration and legacy recommendations.

We have worked closely with the following organisations:

  • International Ski Mountaineering Federation (ISMF)
  • International Sambo Federation (FIAS)
  • International Canoe Federation (ICF)
  • City of Richmond

AISTS Sustainable Sport & Events Open Module (2 days)

Over two days the AISTS Sustainable Sport & Events Open Module provides concrete examples of what leading sports organisations, such as the Olympic Games, Formula E and North-American leagues such as the NHL and NBA are doing. The module takes place at the Synathlon located on the University of Lausanne Campus in Switzerland.

This Open Module is open to anyone looking to successfully incorporate sustainability into events for a further competitive advantage.  The key objectives are to gain a solid understanding of the fundamental ideas behind sustainability and corporate social responsibility and how to ensure that sport continues to have a positive impact on society without a negative impact on the environment

Participants learn from a broad range of expert speakers and from each other about the various ways of integrating sustainability into the core of their businesses, be it a temporary endeavor such as an event or in their daily operations. Throughout both days, group work and discussions will challenge the existing ideas of sustainability in sport, with a particular focus on the business case for sustainability while simultaneously addressing the demands of multiple stakeholders.
