Sylvia-Line Lamaro at the FIFA Women’s World Cup

TWO AISTS ALUMNI IN THE 2019 FIFA WOMEN’S WORLD CUP

The quarter finals of the FIFA Women’s World Cup are upon us, and we are looking forward to seeing some exciting games from tonight to the final on July 7. Two of our AISTS Alumni are working on this mega event: Marely Flores, class of 2008 and Sylvia-Line Lamaro, class of 2017.

The FIFA Women’s World Cup is currently held in France, hosting 24 teams participating in 9 stadiums located in 9 cities. This is the 8th edition of this competition, held every four years since 1991.

We caught up with Marely, who has been working for two years in this event, to talk about the experience of working in the Women’s World Cup and the meaning it has for women all over the world:

“I have been planning and preparing the FIFA Women’s World Cup since 2017. It has been a coordinated teamwork with the Local Organising Committee, the French Football Federation and FIFA to offer the best conditions to the participating teams. This event is the biggest women sport event in the world and to be able to make decisions that can improve the conditions for the teams is a privilege for me. This event is a platform not only for women footballers, but also for women in general, who are working and showcasing their skills in a global event.”

From everyone at AISTS we wish both Marely and Sylvia-Line a successful last few days in the FIFA Women’s World Cup!
