Understanding the Sports Landscape Presentation Series
Baku 2015 Games Academy
AISTS was named among three leading academic institutions chosen to deliver many of the education programmes for the Baku 2015 Games Academy, which was launched in April 2014.
The Academy was established by Baku 2015 European Games Operation Committee with the aim to develop the skills and Games knowledge of Azerbaijani team members, as well as supporting the development of university graduates from Azerbaijan and Europe through the Graduate Excellence Programme.
AISTS will play an important role under the Academy’s Personal Learning Track. Its 7-part monthly presentation series has been specifically developed by the AISTS to assist Baku 2015 employees in developing an integrated understanding of the latest issues and developments shaping today’s sporting landscape in the lead up to the first ever European Games.
Sports Event Organisation & Management Seminar
The University of Tsukuba, TIAS - Official Academic Partner of Tokyo 2020 Olympic Organising Committee
As part of the plans by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sport, Science and Technology to create and leave an educational legacy, the AISTS and the University of Tsukuba, the academic partner of Tokyo 2020, have partnered to jointly deliver the AISTS SEMOS (Sports Event Management and Organisation Seminar).
The dual objectives of Japan SEMOS is to help develop the skills of current and future sports managers who will be leading the organisation of major sporting events in the region, as well as to serve as a platform of exchange for learning and dialogue between Europe and Asia.
The two week programme will be delivered by the AISTS annually in Toyko over three years.
Leadership for the Sport Directors of UCI's professional road cycling teams
As part of the annual training and education for the sport directors of the professional road cycling teams, the World Cycling Center of the UCI mandated the AISTS to deliver two-day training workshops on Leadership over a period of three years. The sessions were highly interactive and designed so that theory could be applied to everyday, practical situations. Over 100 sport directors from all over the world, including France, Spain, The Netherlands, and Italy benefitted from the training.
